Overview

Determination of VOCs in every day food using an automated VOC sample prep system
By utilizing an Atomx, an automated VOC sample prep system in conjunction with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS) will allow for the determination of VOCs in food products. The automated sample prep system will utilize two extraction methods; direct purge in the vial and automated methanol extraction.

Analysis of VOCs in different beverages
The analysis will utilize the Atomx, an automated VOCs sample prep system with an in-vial purge, in conjunction with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS).

Analysis of trichloroanisole in wine and cork using a purge and trap multimatrix autosampler
This study will demonstrate a purge and trap method for analyzing wine and cork samples at the part-per-trillion (ppt) level utilizing an in-vial purge. A Teledyne Tekmar Atomx automated VOC sample prep system will be used, employing a soil method to prevent matrix issues associated with analyzing the difficult matrices of wine and cork.

Atomx Automated VOC Sample Prep System
The Atomx combines an Autosampler and Purge and Trap into a single instrument for the analysis of VOCs in soils and waters. This is the first of its kind and the only system that employs a unique methanol extraction automation feature for high level soils in accordance with USEPA Method 5035.
