This application demonstrates that the Omni soil DNA purification mini kit in conjunction with the Bead Ruptor Elite is able to extract microbial DNA from challenging soil samples such as Georgia red clay. High yields of genomic DNA was observed and the Omni soil DNA purification mini kit was able to successfully remove PCR inhibitors as seen from the amplification of the bacterial 16S rDNA gene.
