Measuring acidity in zeolites using temperature programmed desorption by 3P Instruments
The TPD experiment consists of adsorbing a base molecule on the material of interest and, while flushing the surface with an inert gas, linearly ramping the temperature and measuring desorption of the base. By quantitatively measuring the amount of base desorbed and noting the temperature(s) of desorption, information can be obtained on both the intrinsic and extrinsic acid properties in a single experiment.

Surface area measurement from temperature programmed desorption data by 3P Instruments
The approaches shown in this application note illustrate the possibilities of TPD (temperature programmed desorption) analysis and their relevance for analyzing active surface areas in transition metal-based catalysts with carrier substrates.

Measuring surface areas in catalysts by 3P Instruments
This article gives basic background information about the techniques used in determining BET surface area and the use of this data for evaluating catalysts and catalytic supports and substrates. This article focuses on the dynamic flow method for surface area determination.
