U.S. EPA method 625.1 – method and instrumentation for semi-volatiles with SPE
This poster demonstrates successful sample preparation using an automated, one-pass SPE system. In this configuration, all analytes of interest are extracted with a single pH adjustment. The success of the extraction is due to the use of a mixed mode SPE disk which contains several functionalities.

Quantitative determination of diquat and paraquat in drinking water via EPA method 549.2 using Horizon 5000
The scope of this application note is to demonstrate the process used to extract diquat and paraquat from reagent water using the Horizon 5000 in tandem with the ISOLUTE C8(EC) 500 mg/6 mL solid phase extraction cartridge.

Improving SPE disk extraction technology for US EPA wastewater method 625.1
This note examines the resuslts from an initiial demonstration of capability (DOC) with one liter samples utilizing automated disk solid phase extraction (SPE) for US method US EPA method 625.1.

Automated SPE and GC-MS analysis of tap water samples according to EN 16693:2015 for organochlorine pesticides
This note demonstrates the performance of automated disk-based solid phase extraction (SPE) for concentration of organochlorine pesticides from whole water, prior to GC-MS analysis, following the requirements of EN16693:2015.

Automated SPE of PAH compounds using the Horizon 5000
This work describes the evaluation of three different disk media type to better understand the performance of each for a wide range of PAH compounds. The media evaluated includes C18 high-capacity, DVB and HLB-M.

PAH analysis in drinking water using automated disk SPE
This note demonstrates that automated SPE for preparation of PAHs in drinking water gives excellent results, meeting the requirements set forth in US EPA method 550.1. In addition, the time for preparation is efficient and samples are prepared and ready for HPLC analysis in less than 2 hours.

Hexane extractable material (oil and grease) analysis with automated SPE using the Horizon 5000
This work will demonstrate the performance of the Horizon 5000; a general purpose automated oil & grease and semivolatile extraction system.

Analysis of wastewater samples using disk SPE following US EPA method 608.3
This work demonstrates the use of SPE disks on wastewater samples using automation to provide control and consistency in all the steps in the extraction process, including conditioning the disk, loading the water sample, rinsing the sample bottle and eluting the sample in solvent.

Automated SPE disk extraction method for the analysis of nonyl phenol and bisphenol A in water samples using the Horizon 4790 automated extraction system
This application note shows a successful analysis of nonyl phenol and bisphenyl A in water samples; a fully automated sample preparation process, requiring minimal human intervention, and allowing for reductions in sample processing costs.

Determination of endocrine disrupting hormones in drinking and wastewater
The data from this study demonstrates that the Horizon technology fully-automated extraction, drying and concentration systems used with the Atlantic HLB SPE disk are capable of the detection of selected hormones, resulting in data that is both accurate and precise.
